Homemade Granola

This homemade granola is delicious, easy, and very healthy! Full of fiber, and the incredible benefits of coconut oil, hemp seeds and flax seeds, this granola tastes better than the box of Organic Granola cereal I usually get at the store. Plus it's way cheaper and oh so much better for you. Not to mention it will leave your house smelling amazing!!

Homemade Granola

Ingredients:

2 C rolled oats
1/2 C hemp seeds
1/2 C flax seeds
3 Tbsp maple syrup
3 Tbsp organic coconut oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 C raisins

TIP: Buy the oats, hemp seeds and flax seeds in bulk from your local health food store for half the price!

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 300. In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except raisins. (You may need to melt the coconut oil first. I put it in a small glass in the oven for a few minutes.)

2. Spread out mixture on a cookie sheet in a thin layer.

3. Bake for 15 minutes. Turn granola and flatten back into a thin layer. Bake for 15 more minutes.

4. Allow to cool on the cookie sheet, then add raisins.  Eat with milk, as a topping for icecream or yogurt, or in handfuls as a little snack! Store in a glass container in the fridge.

Note: Feel free to get creative with this granola. Add in whatever nuts, seeds, and dried fruit you prefer. Enjoy!
